Dustin Lee Byrn

Dustin “Dusty” Lee Byrn, 38, of Marion, passed away at Harrisburg Medical Center on May 11, 2025. Born on March 28, 1987, in Herrin, Illinois, Dusty was the beloved son of Johnnie Lee Byrn and Patricia K. (Norris) Byrn.

A true craftsman, Dusty worked as a welder for Precision Fabrication in Marion for 12 years. He was a proud member of New Horizons Community Church, and a man deeply rooted in his faith.

Dusty had a deep love for music—he enjoyed writing songs, singing, and could often be found strumming his guitar or tapping away on the drums. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in mushroom hunting, deer hunting, and simply spending time in nature. He was a true woodsman at heart.

He is survived by his loving mother, Pat Byrn; his children Nick Byrn, Levi Byrn, and Silas Byrn; siblings Johnna (Travis) Stewart, Richard Komasinski, Florentine (Brian)Cambron, Joe Byrn, and Jana Byrn; his fiancé, Georgia Rider, and bonus daughter, Athena Aldridge; as well as many other cherished family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Byrn, and his grandparents.

Services for Dusty have been entrusted to Blue Funeral Home under the direction of Binkley-Ross. A viewing will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Blue Funeral Home located at 1704 North Court Street in Marion. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Don Schluter officiating. Dusty will be laid to rest with his father at a later date in Maplewood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made to New Horizons Community Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home, or donations may be mailed to P.O. Box 39, Marion, IL 62959.
