Marion-Donald Malone 86, passed away on Saturday February 3, 2018 at the Marion VA Medical Center.
Donald was born March 18, 1931 in the Corinth community east of Johnston City. He was the third son of Addison and Jessie (Ray) Malone. He retired from Maytag in Herrin in 1994 after 30 years. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Donald married Shirley (Eskew) Malone on June 2, 1956 in Johnston City. They shared 61 years.
Survivors include:
Daughter – Shelley Malone of Marion
Son – Kendall Malone of Thompsonville
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Douglas who died July 8, 1971, and five brothers; Ray, Vernon, Olen, John, and Billy Gene.
In accordance to his wishes, he will be cremated. Burial will be at a later date in Dillingham Cemetery east of Johnston City.
