Marion- Donald J. Richey, 75, of Marion, passed away at his home, with his familyat 11:15 PM, Friday, October 1, 2004.
Donald was born on September 4, 1929 in Crab Orchard, IL to Milo & Fannie (Turner) Richey. He played basketball for the Crab Orchard Trojans in High School. He married Barbara L. Guined on November 1, 1952 in Detroit, Mich. She survives of Marion.
Mr. Richey was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the US Air Force as a staff sergeant of the 661st Air Squadron. He played on the Air Force baseball team and a little semi-pro ball after his discharge. He retired from Easton Corp. (formerly Vickers) as senior engineer in robotic testing and hydraulics.
He attended Center Baptist Church in Crab Orchard. He was a former member of the Fluid Power Engineers Society and the Troy-Clawson Elks Lodge in Troy, Mich. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing and bowling.

His parents, one grandson; Bradley Stone, two brothers; Warren & Wallace Richey and two brothers in law; Jerry Miller & John Barger preceded him in death..
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Rev. Sam White will officiate. Burial will follow at Coal Bank Cemetery. The Marion VFW & American Legion Posts will perform military rites at the graveside. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service, Tuesday at the funeral home.
