Donald Lee Duvall, age 80, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2026, at Illinois Veteran's Home in Anna, Illinois. He was born on August 2, 1946, in Stonefort, Illinois, the son of Lowell E. Duvall and Ellen (Lawrance) Duvall.
Donald was a 1964 graduate of Carrier Mills High School. He proudly and faithfully served his country in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam from 1965 to 1967. During his military service, he was awarded two Purple Hearts in recognition of his sacrifice and bravery.
Donald worked for Inland Steel from 1978 to 1986 and later worked in the coal mines with Consol until his retirement in 2001.
He enjoyed making model airplanes, wooden angels, and wooden airplanes with working engines. He also enjoyed deer hunting, catfishing, and dancing in his younger years. Although he could be stubborn at times, Donald had a kind, gentle, and giving heart. He was a member of the Marion VFW and an avid supporter of Goreville athletics.
Donald is survived by his brother, Robert L. Duvall of Beaumont, California; his sister, Delores Hathaway of Golconda, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Rose Frothingham.
