Don D. Holland
June 19, 1940 - September 26, 2026
Don Duvall Holland, 86, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026, following a brief battle with cancer.
Born on June 19, 1940, in Marion, Illinois, Don was the son of Joe Baker Holland and Edna Mae (Duvall) Holland. Throughout his life, he was known as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, entrepreneur, and one of the hardest-working men anyone could know.
Don graduated from Marion High School in 1958 and immediately began building a career marked by dedication and determination. He started his professional journey with the Marion Water and Sewer Treatment Plant, where he steadily advanced through the ranks. In 1967, his hard work and expertise earned him the position of Assistant Sewer Plant Superintendent.
In 1970, Don relocated his family to Centralia, Illinois, and joined Engineer Fluid, Inc. (EFI), a manufacturing company specializing in the design and construction of custom water pumping stations. After several successful years with EFI, Don pursued his entrepreneurial dream and founded Fiber Winders, Inc. in Salem, Illinois. Through his vision, leadership, and tireless work ethic, he built a successful business manufacturing fiberglass tanks for the oil industry. He remained actively involved in the company until his retirement.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Baker Holland and Edna Mae Holland; his sisters, Marilyn Harris and her husband, Jack Harris; and his sister, JoAnne Holland.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia "Patsy" Lee (Askew) Holland, of Centralia, Illinois; his sons, Brett Allen Holland and wife Monica (Hardy) Holland of Marion, Illinois, and Bart James Holland of St. Louis, Missouri; and his cherished grandsons, Mitchell Phillips and Parker James Holland and fiancée Halle, all of Marion, Illinois.
Don's family will remember him for his unwavering work ethic, determination, and devotion to those he loved. His example of perseverance and commitment leaves a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire his family for generations to come.
In accordance with Don's wishes, he will be cremated, and no public service will be held. The family will gather at a later date for a private remembrance.
