Debbie Burnett

Debbie Marlene Burnett, age 68, of Marion, Illinois, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025. Debbie was born on August 11, 1956, in Valparaiso, Indiana, to Frank Burnett, Sr. and Ludene (Graves) Smith. Debbie is survived by her brothers Frank Burnett, Keith and Kevin Smith, and her sister Sally Taylor. She also leaves behind extended family and friends who will remember her kindness, her humor, her love of all animals and her fierce loyalty.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Pat Knipe, and her brothers Bobby Gene and Mike Burnett.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing she is now at peace.

I hope you’ve found the quiet peace You searched for all your days,

 A gentle place where sorrows cease, And sunlight spills in rays. 

I hope the questions that you kept Are answered in the stars, 

That every wound the world once left Has faded into scars.

 I hope the roads you walked alone Now feel like sacred ground, 

That those you loved who’ve journeyed on Were there when you were found.

 I hope you rest where laughter lives, Where burdens fall away, 

And in that light, your spirit gives Us strength from day to day. 

I hope you’ve found what you were seeking, Beyond this life’s closed door— A place of peace, of love unceasing… And so much more.
