Clinton A. Woods
JOHNSTON CITY-Clinton A. Woods, 87, of Johnston City passed away at 11:40 PM, Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 24, 2005 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Bob Dial officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 24, 2005 at funeral home. Military rites will be held at the funeral home by VFW Post #1301 and American Legion Post #147. Burial will be at the Masonic and Oddfellows Cemetery in Benton. Memorials may be made to the VFW Ritual Team; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959.
Mr. Woods was born on April 9, 1918 in Benton, Illinois to Roy and Iva (Lefler) Woods. He married Ruth Woolard on October 14, 1939 in Jackson, Missouri.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Woods; daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Steve Albright of Goreville; son, Jeff Woods of Mexico; daughter and son-in-law, Beth Ann and Jim Ide of Arizona; grandchildren, Damon Tucker of California, Courtney and Bryan Grady of Georgia, Lindsey Fisher and Casey Fisher of Carbondale and Kristen Ide of Arizona; sisters and brothers-in-law, June and Jim Jones of Marion, and Jeanne and Bob Dial of Benton; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Evan and Shirley Woods of Robinson and Gordon and Ethel Woods of Benton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Sharon Sue Woods; grandson, Henry “Junior” Fisher; brothers, Wesley and Carl Woods; and sisters, Muriel Walker and Eva Faye Cluck.
Mr. Woods was a member of Whiteash Freewill Baptist Church. He retired from CIPS after 32 years of service as a substation electrician. He served his country during World War II in the United States Army.
