Clara N. Merritt

Marion-Clara N. Merritt, 90, passed away at 2:00 P.M., Friday, June 4, 2004 at Heartland Regional Medical Center. She was born December 15, 1913 in Marion to James J. & Rebecca (Davis) Lane. Clara was a member of Marion First Baptist Church and taught Sunday School there to young children for many years. She was also a homemaker. Clara had one son: Clarence Eugene Skip Merritt, Jr. Two Grandchildren: Justin Merritt and Jennifer Glaze, Three Great Grandchildren, Six Nieces & Three Nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Benson Pete , James, Charles and Dan Lane, two sisters, Modderinee Lane and Margaret Berg, three sister in laws, Evelyn, Grace & Marilou Lane and one brother in law, Otto Berg. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Dr. Joey Brent officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion.
