Charles Ray Phillips

Charles "Charlie" Ray Phillips, 79, of Bradley, Illinois, passed away August 19, 2026, at his home in Bradley.

He was born October 20, 1946, in Herrin, Illinois, the son of Orpha L. and Reba L. (Jenkins) Phillips. Charlie married Carol Ann Moisant on May 14, 1966, at Mt. Zion Church, Buncombe, Illinois.

Charlie was a machinist at Caterpillar's Joliet, IL plant for 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. It was said that Charlie had a servant's heart – humble, helpful and devoted. Dedication, loyalty and perseverance were hallmarks of the life Charlie shared with his family, friends, neighbors & coworkers.

Charlie was a member of St. Joseph Church in Bradley.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; and his sons, Charles T. Phillips and Kenneth L. Phillips, all of Bradley; his sisters, Mary Ann Snyder of Marion, Illinois and Sheryl Darlene Allen of Springfield, Illinois; five grandchildren, Bailey, Connor, Taylor, and Kylie Phillips, and Erika (Tyler) Hults; three great-grandchildren, Brielle, Nataliya and Malachi Phillips; sisters-in-law, Mary (George) Allen and Dianna Foy Moisant; brother-in-law, John (Analie) Moisant; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon (Robert) Killman; brothers-in-law, Joseph, James and Louis Moisant; sisters-in-law, Michelle Corwin Moisant and Rebecca Sames Moisant; and brother-in-law, William Allen.
