CHARLES "CHUB" PHILLIPS Carterville-Charles R. Phillips, 74, died 9:00 P.M., Friday, January 17, 2003 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Charles was born November 11, 1928 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois to Raymond "Honey" & Mary Esther (Bryant) Phillips. He married Rosalie Yates on August 13, 1949 at Piggott, Arkansas He was retired from Diagraph Bradley and leaves behind a loving family and many friends. Survivors include: His wife: Rosalie Phillips of Carterville Son & Daughter In Law: Jack & Vikki Phillips of Bush Daughter & Son In Law: Charleen & Johnny Shelton of Carterville Three Grandsons: Joey Phillips of Hurst Shane Watts of Carterville Joshua Phillips of Bush Sister & Brother In Law: Carolyn (Phillips-Chism) & Ed Thomas of Granite City Three Nephews: Phil Chism & wife Vicki of Dupo, IL. Bryan Chism & wife Tracy of Dupo, IL. Jeff Chism & wife Sonya of Dupo, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother-in-law, Carl Chism and a son-in-law Jim Watts. Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Blairsville Cemetery. Visitation will Monday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Johnson Hughes Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Hafer Baptist Church.
