CHARLES F. SMITH Pittsburg, IL- Charles F. Smith, 81, of Pittsburg formerly of Goreville, died at 11:15 AM, Sunday, June 30, 2002 at his home. Charles was born on January 20, 1921 to Frank & Nova Ann (Craig) Smith. He married Eleanor Kagay on June 24, 1944 in Palatine. She preceded him in death on March 19, 1975. Mr. Smith was a retired farmer and attended the Freewill Baptist Church in Pittsburg. He was a WWII Army Veteran and a member of the VFW & American Legion Posts. SURVIVORS: Son & dau in law- Ronald & Elizabeth Smith- Batavia, IL Son & dau in law- Richard & Carol Smith- Racine, WI Grandchildren: Joseph Smith- Spain Jennifer & Scott Weber- Bristol, NY Tim & Jessica Smith- Racine, WI David Smith- Racine, WI Bro & Sis in law- C.C. & Barbara Foster- Goreville Several nieces & nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers; Ted Smith & Bill Foster, and favorite aunt; Hope Weeks. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 3, 2002 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Revs. Lewis Hollis & Bill McDonald will officiate. The committal service with Military rites will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, July 5, 2002 at Randhill Park Cemetery in Arlington Heights, IL.
