Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home Cecil P. Edwards-Obituary Run:Monday, March 11, 2002 Marion-Cecil P. Edwards, 90, died 10:08 P.M., Friday, March 8, 2002 at Parkway Manor in Marion. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 12, 2002 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Ivan Ryan & Rev. William Beasley officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home. Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Arnold View Freewill Baptist Church. Memorial envelopes are available at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home. Mr. Edwards was born January 24, 1912 in Williamson County to Oscar & Josie (Howerton) Edwards Cantrell. He married Fern Beasley on April 1, 1934 in Williamson County. She died February 9, 1999. Mr. Edwards was a retired coal miner and farmer. He was a member of Arnold View Freewill Baptist Church. He was also a member of the UMWA. Survivors Include: Son & Daughter In Law: Paul E. & Nancy E. Edwards of Marion Daughter & Son In Law: Norma & Deon Bennett of Marion Six Grandchildren: Paul, Jr. & Sylvia Edwards of Marion Jeff & Elizabeth Edwards of Marion Matthew Edwards of West Frankfort Jan & David Watson of Grand Chain, IL. Tammy & Terry Faulkner of Marion Tim & Carla Bennett of Vienna, IL. Several Great Grandchildren Several Great Great Grandchildren Two Brothers: Jessie Edwards of Creal Springs, IL. Ralph Cantrell of Marion Brother In Law: Gene Beasley of Sun City, AZ. Sister In Law: Lorene Darnell of Peorial, IL Also survived by several nieces & nephews.
