Caroline Bailey Marion-Caroline Bailey, 89, of Marion, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 7:55AM at Marion Rehab & Nursing Center. Catholic Mass will be held for Caroline at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Marion with Monsignor Reverend Thomas Flach officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until time of service on Saturday. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to the Ronald McDonald House Charities; envelopes will be available at the service or may be sent C/O Blue Funeral Home, P.O. Box 411, Marion, IL, 62959. Caroline was born on February 22, 1922 to Peter & Mary (Bower) Fritz. She married James L. Bailey on November 27, 1942 in Lincoln Park, MI, with whom she shared 67 years; he preceded her on Saturday, June 5, 2010. She is survived by her daughter, Ruth & Roger Thomas; grandchildren, Roger & Carla Thomas Jr., Liz & Andrew Aragon, Chris Hess-Thomas and Caroline & Ben Murphy; 11 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Caroline was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, James; 2 sisters; 3 brothers; 1 grandson and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Caroline loved to sew and cook. She dedicated her life to her family; cherishing each moment with her loved ones. A great loss is felt by all who knew her.
