Carl Dean Dahmer, age 88, of Marion, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 25, 2025.
Carl was born June 23, 1937, in Marion, the son of John and Clara (Kuehn) Dahmer. He grew up on the family farm, where his love for the land and animals began. On that same farm he spent much of his life raising cattle, hogs, and grain. In addition to farming he also drove a lime truck and a concrete truck. He grew up loving animals, especially his dogs. He lived on the farm until he moved to his apartment at Fifth Seasons Assisted Living.
He married Mary Alice Springs, and together they shared many years of love and devotion. Carl was a man of the Christian faith, who enjoyed the simple gifts of hard work, and family.
Carl is survived by his daughters, Connie and her husband Terry, and Brenda; three grandchildren, Adam (Samantha), Trudy, and John (Miranda); two grandchildren: Church and Rhett; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his parents; his sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Lee Hamilton; brothers- and sisters-in-law, James Carlynn) Springs, and Wilma Dell Springs, Charles and Murl Springs, Ruth and Harold Maynard, and Nancy Rose and Jim (Red) Carter; nephew, Jerry Hamilton; and nieces, Beth Miller and Bekki Miller.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff and residents at Fifth Season Assisted Living, especially his care team—Bea, Michelle, Diamond, Salina, and Leann—for their kindness and compassion.
