Brenda Kay Moulton

Brenda Kay (Culbreth) Moulton, age 84, passed away on April 8, 2026, in Herrin, Illinois.

Brenda was born on September 4, 1941, in Harrisburg, Illinois, to Clyde and Vergie (Pulley) Culbreth. She graduated from Crab Orchard High School in 1959 and later attended John A. Logan College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Child Development in 1981.

Brenda devoted her career to working as a daycare teacher, a role that perfectly matched her gentle spirit and lifelong passion for children. She loved playing with the kids in her care and became a “grandma” figure to many of them over the years. Her greatest joy, however, was her own family. Brenda was deeply family‑oriented and cherished every moment spent with those she loved. She also enjoyed being outdoors and helping her significant other, Jerry, tend to the garden.

Brenda was a proud member of the Baptist faith and spent many years worshiping at Pittsburg Freewill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Ericka Moulton, and Ericka’s significant other, Matt Mueller; her great‑grandchildren, Darren and Haley Mueller; her brother, Bill Culbreth; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Vergie; her significant other, Jerry Bayles; her sons, Mark, Barry, and Jon Moulton; and her brothers, Ray and Gary Culbreth.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Binkley‑Ross Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Blue Funeral Home, 1704 North Court Street in Marion, Illinois, with a service to follow at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Riley Brannan.
