Beverly Jean “Mimi” Roland passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 5:50pm at Deaconess Illinois Medical Center, Marion. Burial will be Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville.

Mimi was born November 16, 1939, in Carrier Mills, Illinois to L.A. and Frances (Tanner) Barton. She married C.L. “Bud” Roland on June 16, 1958; he preceded her in death on April 16, 1990.

Survivors include her daughter, Jeanie (Monte) Blue, and their children, Chris (Ginger) Blue and Kelli (Bill) Overson, and great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Carson, Olivia, Phoebe, and Miles; her son, Jack Roland, and his children, Nicole (Levi) Lacy, Brandon (Tiffany) Roland, and Jessica (Jordan) Tait, and great-grandchildren, Lexis, Savannah, Izabella, Addison, A.J., Oliver, and Lakelyn; her son, Mike (Julie) Roland, and their children, Cody (Charlotte) Roland, Shane (Megan) Roland, and Ty (Ally) Roland, and great-grandchildren, Hayden and Grayson; and her son, Brian (Dee) Roland, and his children, Brian Jr. (Morgan) Roland, Sean Roland, Trinity Roland, and Connor Roland; sister-in-law Flo Smith and cousin Regina (Dana) Brodbeck.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and great granddaughter Madyson. Mimi spent her career as a beautician and proudly owned her salon, Bev’s Beauty Spot. She was an avid golfer who enjoyed many days on the courses at Lake of Egypt, West Frankfort, and Crab Orchard and proudly achieved a hole-in-one, a highlight she cherished. On colder days, when she wasn’t on the course, she could always be found cheering on her favorite golfers from home. Mimi bowled for more than 50 years at both Herrin Bowl and S.I. Bowl. She was also a proud member and past president of Xi Gamma Kappa. In her quieter moments, she loved swinging on her front porch, coloring, planting and admiring flowers, shopping with her daughter, and indulging in a sweet treat whenever she could.

Above all, Mimi’s greatest joy was her family. She treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren and was incredibly proud of each of them. She never met a stranger without sharing stories and “showing off” her family, something we all came to know and love about her. To know Mimi was a privilege, but to be loved by her was a true blessing. She had a way of brightening any day with her warm hugs, and no one ever left her presence without knowing how deeply they were loved. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her and forever cherished by those who were lucky enough to call her ours.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Voyage Senior Living of Herrin, 400 Lou Ann Dr., Herrin, IL 62948.
