Barbara Jane Runge

Barbara Jane Runge, “Memaw, Granny Jane, Mama”, age 76, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, in Evansville, Indiana.

Born on May 28, 1949, in Carbondale, Illinois, Jane was the daughter of Bob and Norma Durham. She grew up in Southern Illinois and received her education in Goreville, where she laid the foundation for a life rooted in family and faith.

Jane was a member of Goreville United Methodist Church, where she found spiritual strength and community throughout her life. Her unwavering dedication to her loved ones defined her role as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She shared a long and cherished marriage of 35 years with her husband, David Runge. Together they built a family that brought them immense pride and joy.

Jane is lovingly remembered by her children: Stacey Coonce, Julie Tripp, and Garrett Runge (April). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Kacey (Andrew) Whorton, Kaley (Armando) Amezquita, KJ Coonce, Dayton (Knikki) Tripp, Brenni Jo (Jared) Collier, Khloe, Harlee, and Victor Runge; her great-grandchildren: Brady, Jase, Easton, and Rylee Whorton; Eliana and Isabella Amezquita; and Hayes and Henley Collier; her uncle, Donnie Hancock; and her aunt, Sue Hancock. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and special friends, including Mike Ward and Nancy Durham.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Norma Durham; her sister, Deloris (Dodie) Kline; and her brother, Bradley Joe Durham.

Known affectionately as “Granny Jane,” “Memaw,” and “Mama,” she will be remembered for the warmth she brought into every room and the deep love she felt for every generation of her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Blue Funeral Home under the direction of Binkley Ross. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on December 5, 2025, at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville, with the funeral service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Cana Cemetery in Goreville.
