Marion- Avis Atwood Edwards, 97, of Marion, passed away at 11:50 Am, Monday, July 2, 2012 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Avis was born on June 15, 1015 in Severy, KA to Roy and Emmer (Beck) Atwood. She was a member of Spillertown Baptist Church. Survivors include- Granddaughter- Cynthia Edwards Great Granddaughters- Heather and Megan Hall Nephew- Dale Atwood and wife Vicky of Marion Nieces- Elaine Atwood of Marion Myrna Smith Jaimi Smith Great nephew- Bill Atwood and wife Jessica of Marion She was preceded in death by her parents, son- Eldon Edwards, sister- Mildred Atwood Schrader and brothers- Bernell Atwood, Virgil Atwood, Brooks Atwood and Ned Atwood. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, July 6, 2012 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. Rev. Andy Lee will officiate. Burial will follow at Lake Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 Am until time of service, Friday, at the funeral home.
