April D. Richey

April D. Richey, age 55, of Marion, Illinois, passed away on June 27, 2025. She was born on April 5, 1970, to Mackie Wayne Richey and Joyce Ann (Boester) Richey.

Pink was April’s favorite color, and she loved anything sparkly—the brighter, the better. It was her signature color and suited her vibrant spirit. She was of the Baptist faith, and her life centered around the love of her family, cherished friends, and her beloved pets. April found great joy in watching movies and spending time with her dear friend Kim Murray and Kim’s children, as well as her beloved niece Heather. Her fur babies, Phoebe Lou and Holly Noel, were more than pets—they were her heart and constant companions.

She is preceded in death by her father, Mackie Richey; grandparents, Helen and Clifford Richey; uncle, Terry Tanner; and her treasured furbabies, Phoebe Lou and Holly Noel.

April is lovingly remembered by her mother, Joyce Richey; sister, Tanya (Erick) Christy; niece, Heather (Timothy Jr.) Rich; aunts, Loretta Tanner, Sharon (Raymond) Stephens, Nancy (Dale) Hastings; uncle Alan (Jo) Boester; cousins, Shawn Tanner and Lane "Little Man" Tanner; and many dear friends, including Kim (Michael) Murray, Amy (Chris) Dodd, and Arika (Joey) Muck.

A private graveside service will be held. Arrangements are in the care of Blue Funeral Home, under the direction of Binkley-Ross. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions toward final expenses, which may be sent to Binkley-Ross Funeral Home, P.O. Box 39, Marion, IL 62959.
