Alice Lang

Alice Louise Lang was born on November 14, 1953, in Marion, IL to Eugene Adolph Lang and Esther Muriel (Hudgens) Lang. She graduated from Marion High School in 1971. 

Alice began working at Robert’s Insurance Agency in high school then went on to work at John A. Logan College while she attended school there. During her adult life she worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Marion for numerous years and then retired from WPS.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Judith (Bob) Windhorst of Mt. Vernon, IL. She is survived by one brother, Louis (Theresa) Lang of Coffeen, IL, one daughter Brandy (Brian) Sacapanio of Herrin, IL, eight grandchildren: Destiny (Allen) Petrowich, Madison Tulo-Lang, Brindyn, Triton, Remington, Bryant (Anthony), Brandtley (Kiernan) and Brynlee Sacapanio as well as great-grandson Theo Petrowich.

She is also survived by nephew Ryan (Stephanie) Windhorst as well as nieces Sara (Matt) Bober, Laura (Joshua) Fleming and Leah (Thomas) Stanfill. Great nieces and nephews include Jackson and Maddox Windhorst, Myla Bober, Caleb and Brooklyn Fleming and Westin and Savannah Stanfill.

Alice was a devoted mother, sister and aunt but an even more devoted grandmother. She loved her family deeply, but her favorite role was being a grandma. She spoke fluent sarcasm and was a die-hard St. Louis Cardinals fan. She was greatly loved and will be missed terribly.

A private celebration of life event will be held.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to FTD research in honor and memory of her sister and best friend Judy who bravely fought and lost her battle in 2024.
