Afton Olsen VIENNA–Afton Olsen, 96, of Vienna formerly of Marion passed away at 4:00 PM, Saturday, October 11, 2008 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 16, 2008, at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Lee Wollard officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Vienna Fraternal Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes will be available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mrs. Olsen was born March 8, 1912 in Buncombe, Illinois to Luther and Mamie (Jenkins) Willyard. She married Carl Olsen; he preceded her in death in January of 1964. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Phyllis Olsen of Elgin and John and Audrey Olsen of Vienna; grandchildren, John Jr. And Donna Olsen, Tim and Lori Olsen, Randall and Lori Holt, Ronald and Sandy Holt and Brett and Brandy Holt; great grandchildren, Neal, Jordan, Aaron, Alyssa, Maacha, Michelle, Carl, Cody, Dalton, Weston and Shelby; sister and brother-in-law, Imogene and Jack McElroy of Carterville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five brothers; and two sisters. Mrs. Olsen was a member of Messiah Christian Church, she embraced her church and they embraced her. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and the outdoors. She was a homemaker. She loved her family and she will be greatly missed by all.
